Police found that Sahoo was maintaining a luxurious lifestyle keeping the anti-Posco villagers in dark about his activities. Sahoo had been spearheading the anti-Posco movement for past three years and is involved in 26 cases like looting, kidnapping, assault, keeping hostage foreigners, Posco officials and police.

Investigations revealed that Sahoo left on October 4 and went to Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad with his family members to spend Dussehra festival. He and his family members returned from Hyderabad on Sunday morning. Leaving his wife at a multi-storeyed house he owns in Bhubaneswar, Sahoo and his son Abhijeet came to Dhinkia by a hired car. His son is reading at KIIT, Bhubaneswar. Paradip police kept strict vigil on his movement after he arrived in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. When Sahoo reached Bhutmundei near Kujang, Paradip police led by inspector Bhabanisankar Mishra swooped on him. Police also seized important documents, bank passbooks and photos from him.

Police claimed to have got vital clues regarding the activities of PPSS and collection of funds to intensify stir against Posco steel project. After verifying the seized passbooks, police have started investigation to unearth the names of contributors.

Even, police are planning to raid his properties at his native village Jireilo under Erasama police limits.
