Friends, As we all know, Malayesh Banerjee (27), an IIT-Kharagpur graduate in architecturewho worked with a Mumbai-based firm was shot dead in the firing in Colaba during the Mumbai incidence. His fiancée, Khushboo Jha, again from IIT Kgp who was to marry him hardly a week later on December 6 after a 7-year courtship saw her came crashing down when she received this news. The two were to wed in Ranchi. Khusboo is presently a software engineer in Delhi. Malayesh had gone to Cafe Leopold's in Colaba causeway for dinner along with two of his colleagues when firing broke out Malayesh had completed school from Bishop Wescott in Namkum. He had cleared IIT in the very first attempt. After graduation, he completed his Golbal Masters in Business Administration from S.P. Jain Centre of Management, Dubai. Malayesh's father, Madhabendra Banerjee is the head of chemistry department at Ranchi University. We all feel extremely sad and shattered by the sudden and most unexpected death of Sri Malayesh in a tragic and gruesome manner. I, being from IIT, can understand the helplessness, anger, fatigue, emotions, void and complete daze that the family of Sri Malayesh in Ranchi and elsewhere would be presently passing through. This is a loss that is not going to be recovered through out the rest of the life. It is really sad. No less tragic is the fate related with Khushboo, the sweet girl who was going to marry Malayesh after such a long friendship. While theirs would have been an ideal and a happy pair, loving and lovely, as fate would have it, it has now turned into a complete vacuum. A very promising career was cut short all of a sudden for no rhyme or reasons. Like everyone else, I also feel extremely saddened at this incidence.
