RELIGION AND SOCIETY
i think that religion and society are very much integrated with each other. they are interdpendent. focussing on the part of religion, i would say that it is very important for the dalits in india to chose a religion which can socially imancipate them.
religion does give its practitioners and believers ideas and attitudes to look into the society, humanity and other factors including the material relationship of one individual with the other. this is the precise reason behind the evolution, organisation and development of Protestantism against Roman Catholicism.
therefore, given the historical relevance and with the recognition of its relevace even by Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, BUDDHISM shows us a path that can at least socially imancipate the oppressed and suppressed Dalits of the south asian region.
