Dear Manoj, What Dr Ram Manohar Lohia has said 60 year back is being accepted and followed by one and all. Caste is an Indian reality and political process can be a powerful instrument to change this 3,000 years old system. The Leftist used to call his ideology as the politics of backwardness. And, the same comarades are joining hands with Dalit parties which is a welcome step. Class-caste struggle must go hand in hand to bring a change. Not only Vaishyas, but the upper caste must come forward to share their respective traits with other deprived sections of the society. And, support the special political privileges being offered to the deprived section of society in the post-independent India to undo the 3,000-old social reservation provisions made in Indian society.
