bharadvaaz (Guest Member) The political scenario is too sad. It is very very disheartening to see such type of politics. It is also sad to see how political people want to rule such a rich state. Jharkhand is second to none in terms of its resources. That is why all the rulers want to rule the state. Not only that, being a backward state, it gets lots of Government funds. To enjoy these funds, the politicians want to rule this state. No one has till now has taken care to encourage various industries in this state. The state require no funds for 100 years, if the administration wants to use the available resources properly. Jharkhand has lot of efficient, capable and enthusiastic officials who want to give some thing back to the society and to the soil. Bloody politics tied their hands down. Teach everybody a lesson in the coming elections. Vote to good governance and good people.

Entire village in Jharkhand faces arrest over felling trees 6 Feb 2009, 0415 hrs IST, Law Kumar Mishra, TNN
GIRIDIH (JHARKHAND): The entire male population of a village numbering more than 350, including children, have deserted their homes in Jharkhand apprehending arrest by police in connection with cases of felling trees. They have been booked for destruction of forest and encroachment of forestland under the Forest Act, and some of the cases are a decade old.
Police swung into action threatening arrest of all the males in Barkitand village after a court directive to that effect. The women of the village have preferred to remain indoors to avoid the police which have been visiting frequently of late.
Denying that the villagers were being harassed, the police said they went to the village to execute court warrants. But in one case, police attached the property of an accused named in the FIR and removed doors and other fixtures from the house. Devnandan Yadav, the son of the accused, protested against the police action and produced death certificate of his father who died in 1997. Baleshwar Mahto, Budhan Mahto and Karam Mahto are among the ``dead'' whose names figure in the list of villagers facing trial.
Another villager, Shivnandan Yadav, told TOI, ``My father died on December 28, 1998, and the case was filed against him in 2000. The police came to execute warrant to attach the property last year. They returned only after I showed them the death certificate. '' He said there isn't a single family in the village of 175 houses where male members have not been made accused.
