A feast does not become Christian just because it has its origin in the West. These feasts have been popularised by the commercial forces and in the process the respect for parents that is central to Mother's Day or Father's Day or love and peace that are central to Valentine's Day are ignored. Our effort has to be cleanse these feasts and re-introduce the spirit of respect for one's parents and a commitment to peace and love. Let us not throw the baby away with the bath water. Walter
