Dear Venkat, Greetings ! You seem to be getting the logic wrong. If people in Thailand respect Hinduism and symbols of Hinduism, the learning for India is not to put up more Hindu symbols in our public places- we already put quite lot and there is the ubiquitous Bhoomipuja for everyting that we put up - but to respect other religions more and to give space to their symbols in public places. Interestingly in India, where it may be safely assumed that our ancestors in the distant past were predominatly Buddhists for some centuries, we have the exact opposite of the Thai situation. That is majority Hindu population whose ancestors at one point of time were Buddhists while in Thailand the opposite holds true.
