Re: sitting in USA but, talking on reservation benefits
Dear Moon Khan,
Same thing with me. I never replied to all these discussion, but your article tempted me to do so!
I agree that reservation should be given to the one who needs it. But when you say that you were selected to be deputy collector, I believe that you are highly qualified and know lot about our reservation system. I understand your frustration on not getting the post due to reservation and understand your logic on reservation. But I am not able to understand how you forgot to mention that in India, even minorities have the reservation. Every state and in center, there is reservation for minorities. If you were so highly qualified that were to become collector, you should have known that in India, nothing happens what leaders wants or some powerful people wants. Its all about what 'aam aadami' like you and I wants. We elect these leaders and they always do what people wants. When you raise the question on reservation to SC's and BC's, how can you demand the reservation for minorities (though, you can please check there is and there were always reservations for minorities in India in every department and state, excluding Army)? Isn't bias? I am a upper caste Hindu, and I don't get any reservation. In-fact one of my Brahmin friend who is poorer than 90% of backward caste people in that particular area, doesn't have any reservation. So if you are unhappy about the reservation, please condemn the whole system. If one is hurt because of this particular system, shouldn't be asking the same reservation again. Because if you ask for so, tomorrow Shanker Singh will be discussing the same thing here and telling everyone that though Shanker Singh was more qualified, Moon Khan got the job because he got reservation. shanker singh __._,_.___
