The way the members of the various social service organizations came up to help the train accidents victims, it was unparallel, said victims.
On 13 February around 7.50 pm, the Chennai bound 2841 UP Coromandal Express met with a serious accident, resulting death of 16 people and leaving more than 250 injured.
Sources says, when the super fast train was running around 100 plus km per hour ,suddenly met an accident within few hundred meters after crossing the Jajpur Road railway station.
Once accident occurred, cries from the dislocated bogies of the ill-fated train rented the air, said Ganesh Chandra Mahapatra, a local youth, who was passing near the railway track.
However within half an hour, youths of the Jajpur Road took out their motor cycles, scooters to rescue the injured passengers and took them to near by hospitals without waiting for ambulances.

Social activists of various organizations including Jajpur Ekta Manch, Satyasai Seva Samiti, Vivekananda Yuva Maha Mandal, Redcross Society of Orissa joined to help out injured.
Youths of nearby Sapagadia, Panasia, Kopanda, Natapada, Jhatia Sahi,Chorda,Biramanipur and Umapada extended their all out support in the rescue operations.
Once they were taken to the hospitals, team of doctors attended them sincerely for which many were saved in time.
Corporate Houses including Neelachal Ispat Nigam(NINL), IMFA, Jindal Stainless ,VISA, Tata Steel, Maithan Ispat were supporting the injured and generously helped out in the relief, rescue & medical assistance throughout the night.
It is due to early action of the local people, which were later joined by railway accident squad, state administration, police personnel, para-military forces could prevent more casualities, said Manoj Jena, Secretary Vinoba Seva Pratisthan (VSP), Bhubaneswar.
The courage shown by the young people like immediately rescuing the injured from the wrecked coaches was really praiseworthy, said Pradeep Kapoor, IG Railways.
The sincere endeavor of the local people of Jajpur Road as well as the people of Cuttack particularly the doctors of Jajpur and SCB medical college & hospital saved the situation, admitted Jena, Secretary VSP.
