Our fascists like German and Italian ones have no regard for the
Constitution and the judiciary.
Another fact to be noted is that fascism in Germany rose in the wake of
the Great Depression. What will happen here because another severe
depression is unfolding and the people at large may get disillusioned with
present democratic dispensation because of rising prices, incidence of
unemployment and lawlessness and this can be exploited by our fascists?
Growing regional imbalances and socio-economic inequalities are already
reflecting themselves in incidents in Maharashtra and Assam and communal
violence in state after state. The scenario is frightening.
