Ragging should be made a punishable offence by law. Despite efforts to this end ragging still continues. It is a slur on the stuent community. Why don't teachers carry out concerted protests? I am surprised at this lassitude. Think of the parents who suffer interminably?
I also agree with the view that disabled children should study in the general schools. I am in whole hearted agreement with this entire proposition. This is an inherent right- the right to study or go to school. Various recommendations by apex bodies, have only remained as recommendations? Has anything concrete been done? The problem is that recommendations in our country are paper tigers. The education system still remains elitist and dominated by the ruling classes.

Ragging is a criminal crime and was declared so in 1992 Chennai and all over India.
Loyola College Chennai banned 31 of the third year economics students and they even went to Chennai High Court and used The then Chief Minister Jayalalitha to win their case etc., The Nawab of Arcot , got involved all because of his son Asif ! ragged my eldest son, and I did teach the whole lot of those who took part in the ragging that year , when new comers were innocent and decent boys , I heard their cry for help and stood alone and dealt with them.
So can all parents if they make up their mind to jointly put afull stop to ragging right now, this has got to be stopped before any more lives are taken.
