Dear Dr Isaacs Thanks for your bold comments. Though it is some what correct. However I agree with you that the Instituion like IITS are producing students with all together different complex ego which is neither according to need of our social envroment nor fulfiling the aspiration of our country. It is due to this Prof Yashpal Committe has suggested to go for Universiy rather than going for Institituion like IITs where creativity and originality etc are developed. I hope this will be taken care by our New Education Minister. Dr V K Srivastava Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad You are right, Dr. Issacs, These IITs have become a 'Passport '' for reaching to US/MNCs, allowing them to earn lakhs/crores, but the scientific fervour of country is being phased out , and days to come , we will havediggiculties in finding ''faculties '' even to run Science Deptts. Again , media's role has not been contructive. 90% Plus bracket/IIT busters [india rankers]---are these new phenomena? Since inception there have been toppers, but , the way media [print/electronic] project these achievers as if they are out of planet, infact puts more preesure on these kids to perform consistently and their 'psyche'' get affected in their future life. Infact I have found most of the time , guys getting 98% at X std , usually get 70 % in their XII. Have anybody ever thought of , about guys not making at IITs by whisker[may be by 1 mark], Were these kids are not intelligent? Media will have to think , how not to sensationalise these issues.
