| Story of Solloipur Village (Bengal) of about 400 people with 95% poor Muslim land labourers |

I was invited to Kalyani, and visited four villages near each other : The main one called SOLLOIPUR, was a village with about 400 souls.95% are very poor Muslim land labourers.All mud huts and about 4 tube wells for drinking water, no toilets at all.No special closed areas for baths or washing clothes too.
All done near by and open areas, its sad to still remember what I saw three years ago.I visited the area in Jan, I wore a thick leather jacket and kept myself warm, but when I entered the village I found little ones with no clothes on their body, noses leaking and eyes swollen up I saw the dirtiest pond , in which the people were taking filling pots with water and a few were washing clothes in the same pond.
I saw pretty faces, handsome boys too, uneducated and wasting their lives. I asked the Mulim head of the place why they did not have a school or some place to send the children to learn, he said, no one cares about this village and the near by ones too. We have to live on our own, plough the fields, and sell what we grow and live or die no one care for us at all.
I tired to set up a centre to help this village and the others near by, but they refused to let us open the association, hence I returned to the UAE broken Hearted. I saw the vegetables grown by them, the best I ever saw any where in India, the double beans were 6 to 8 Inches long, and clean 3 " broad, the cabbage was the best I have ever seen, the brinjals were so deep in colour and huge in size, I wanted to help them to export this to the UAE as well, because the Keralites are doing this along with other mighty business houses all over the Middle East.
I wish some one can look into the matter and try to get them a little education, a little trade experienced and also some export of these fresh and good quality vegetables to the Middle East at least.I bougth some and cooked them when In Kalyani , I wanted to eat and find out the difference, these were the best I ever tasted so far in the Middle East.
